Guitars On The Loose
03:14
|
|

This is the party you been waitin' for
Your head will explode when you walk in the door
Guitar wails and you gonna freak
That's what happens when ya reach the peak
Shift that body to another gear
We're gonna party til you're almost in tears
Guitars on the Loose, Guitars on the Loose
Crank it up and give er some juice
You can try to fight it but it's no use
Party down the track on the rock and roll caboose
This is the party you'll be talkin' about
Open your ears and you'll figure it out
If it's music or babes you seek
Just hang out, we'll go on thru next week
Keef and Page, Sex Pistols too
and a little Neg Ten, I think they're new
Guitars on the Loose, Guitars on the Loose
Crank it up and give er some juice
You can try to fight it but it's no use
Thinkin' that it's time to dish the neighbors some abuse
Now it's time to join the party
You supposed to party hearty
Around here, that's the first priority
Go Jonny (solo)
This is the party you been waitin' for
Your head will explode when you walk in the door
What be comin', I don't wanna boast
but I promise that you'll soon be toast
You been feelin' like you're barely alive
Not no more, when you first arrive
Guitars on the Loose, Guitars on the Loose
Crank it up and give er some juice
You can try to fight it but it's no use
Party down the track on the rock and roll caboose
Guitars on the Loose, Guitars on the Loose
Crank it up and give er some juice
You can try to fight it but it's no use
Party down the track on the rock and roll caboose
Party down the track on the rock and roll caboose
Party down the track on the rock and roll caboose
Party down the track on the rock and roll caboose

A Great Beginning
03:27
|
|
||
I was barely alive when at last I took the dive in your shallow sea oh yeah
Now I’ve seen the things you’re not
and it’s time you took the shot that was meant for me oh yeah
Oh we had a great beginning but the end is now in sight
I was clinging to something well at least before tonight
Can you drop me at the airport I don't wanna miss my flight
Not meant to be
It’s time to sing a different tune so here’s a pin for your balloon
I can't compromise anymore
Hey we had a go of it, dealin’ with you and all your shit
But I ain’t no fly anymore
Hey we had a great beginning but good things tend not to last
I’ve seen all your vibrant colors and that wore out way too fast
Safe to say we have no future so I’m puttin’ you in the past
It’s best for me
Solo
Now you say I led you on but the one I met is gone you been busted out oh yeah
Maybe next time you’ll learn, try to be real and you might earn benefit of the doubt oh yeah
Oh we had a great beginning hey but dreams they turn to dust
When you got around your home girls I was left in such disgust
If I know that I don’t like you, we’re no way approaching lust
I’d rather be free
1-2-3 8-9-10

Oh the time is right please stay the night, my Iris Bloom
I can't wait any longer, your vibe is stronger than my mind
I don't know what to do
When you hang with me you make this little light shine
Oh I got romance, I must advance, my Iris Bloom
Ask me for my heart and I will part with heart and soul
I don't know what to do
When you're in my vicinity I lose all my control
Don't ya know it's not right?
Don't ya know it's not right?
Don't ya know it's not right to tease me
when I need a squeeze
Iris Bloom
Oh the day is here
Make your feelings clear, my Iris Bloom
Will I ever get you, since I met you I fantasize
I don't know what to do
when you come around I get those butterflies
Don't ya know it's not right?
Don't ya know it's not right?
Don't ya know it's not right to tease me
oh where'd you come from geez
Iris Bloom
solo
Oh what can I say, now we got all day, my Iris Bloom
I can't wait any longer, I wanna be a part of you
I don't know what to do
When I hold your hand it's a feeling I never knew
Don't ya know it's not right?
Don't ya know it's not right?
Don't ya know it's not right to tease me
Just stay a little longer please Iris Bloom
Don't ya know it's not right?
Don't ya know it's not right?
Don't ya know it's not right to tease me
you're where I wanna be
oh girl the things I foresee
oh please I'm down on my knees

Villas Boas
02:55
|
|
||
Her hair was fair, reaching halfway down her neck
Her eyes were large and blue, slanting outward
She was shoulder tall, with hard, thin lips, small nose and ears
thin waist, and high and well-separated breasts
Wide hips, large thighs, normal fingers, feet, and nails
and a triangular face
with high, wide cheeks which narrow sharply to a pointed chin
Single saucer mating game
She points to her stomach, and she points to the sky
Was he just a pin-up dreamer, or did he father a hybrid guy
Villas Boas, Villas Boas - He was gone 4 hours but he didn't notice
Villas Boas, Villas Boas - He called her an animal but that's what he was
Antonio, your lucky day - Alien girl knew what she wanted
like most of us do here in Bedrock - Human cept the way she grunted
Oh she was so beautiful - Not an earthling, so much better
Put a tonic on your body
Now you wish you never met her
(solo)
Creepy that she came to you
Now these strangers ask you questions
People laughing with their eyeballs
Things you wish you never mentioned
She turned to you a second time
You wanted to kiss her but she wouldn't let you
Still you feel like quite the stud now
Must be some reason, they came to get you
Villas Boas, Villas Boas - She was a goddess, he was a novice
Villas Boas, Villas Boas - hey alien love, that must be where the fun is
Villas Boas, Villas Boas - He was gone 4 hours but he didn't notice
Villas Boas, Villas Boas - He called her animal but that's what he was

Motown Song
02:58
|
|
||
Holland Dozier Holland and Diana Ross
oh tell me where did they get that beat
It tends to make for a better day
when you're dancin' in the street
It makes me sad as I could ever say
that they barely play those songs no more
It was exactly that which brought me the thought
of why I wrote this little one for
All it takes to make my baby happy is a Motown song (she loves that Motown)
she starts singin' along and her feet start movin
and I'm right there with her boppin hoppin
Don't need those Pips, I got this band
who can play anything so good
We're the best band in the land right now
You must listen if you could oh
What's Goin' On, I Heard It Thru The Grapevine
that You Really Got A Hold On Me Ooh Baby Baby
I can't help myself if Motown music makes me say
Let's Get It On to My Girl oh my little girl
Please Mr. Postman, need this Signed Sealed Delivered
I Ain't Too Proud To Beg and I Want You Back
oh there Ain't No Mountain High Enough to heal the Tracks of my Tears
Don't wanna Shop Around
brass then guitar solo
It ain't Just My Imagination or a Superstition
this Love Hangover You Keep Me Hangin On
Don't Leave Me This Way I'm so Uptight
How Sweet It Is The Tears Of A Clown
Got To Give It Up For Once In My Life
so What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted?
Standing In The Shadows Of Love
It will be you I get Reflections of
All it takes to make my baby happy is a Motown song (I Second That Emotion)
she starts singin' along and her feet start movin
and I'm right there with her shakin' quakin'
Don't need Miracles, I got these boys
who can play anything so good
we're the best band in the world right now
and I think that should be understood oh
All it takes to make my baby happy is a Motown song (just gimme that Motown)
she starts singin' along and her feet start movin
and I'm right there with her boppin hoppin

Never Saw The Summer
02:47
|
|
||
Never saw the summer, never saw the spring
Never saw too much of anything
Never saw an angel til I saw your face
glowing without trying
Never saw the ocean, never saw a stream
Never saw the truth within' the dream
Never saw much light until I saw your smile
comin' at me
oh I thought my life was destined for some lonely days indeed
til you came out from stage left and you are pretty much all I need, I love you
Never saw the summer, never saw the spring
Never saw too much of anything
Never saw a fullmoon til I felt your hand
holding mine so sweet now
I shake my head, such a beautiful girl
Never saw the woman who could be my world
Never saw the one who'd turn me round,
make me better
You inspire me to want to set the world on fire just to prove to you
that I can make a life that matters while I cherish a love that's true
I guess that you like me
and we have chemistry
so do we have a chance to turn romance into reality oh
solo
I went thru all my life looking for somethin' I'd never find
Little did I know something so spectacular could turn out to be mine, I'm so lucky
Never saw the spring, never saw the summer
Never saw a day on the calendar
til I saw one coming up
where I knew for sure that I would see you
Never felt the beams of a perfect day
Never saw my troubles all fade away
Never had a clue about my destiny
til you came my way
oh I'll take you to Las Vegas for a neon wedding night
oh when they see you coming they will turn off all the lights
the way you're shining
Never saw the summer, never saw the spring
Never saw too much of anything
Never saw an angel til I met your kind

Unselfish
02:57
|
|

Lately I've been thinkin' that we're headed round the bend
Every day it seems we're gettin' closer to the end
I think that I might somehow be too much for you to take
but still I know I wanna be around when you awake
mm h-mm I'm tryin' to be unselfish but I want you
mm h-mm I'm tryin' to be unselfish but I want you
Where do the sweet lovers wander once they reached the peak?
Will they stay together if they know not what they seek?
I had always hoped that we would just get lost together
Now it seems I'm takin' you out in some stormy weather
mm h-mm I'm tryin' to be unselfish but I want you
mm h-mm I'm tryin' to be unselfish but I want you
Could it be our run of golden times has come and gone?
(No that can't be our love's too strong)
If we keep our heads and try to cut ourselves some slack
we both know it won't be long til we're back on the track
solo
I don't know what's right or wrong or what is best for us
but it wouldn't be our style to let this bite the dust
If I get to thinkin' about what I'd do instead
all the complicated stuff just fades right from my head
mm h-mm I'm tryin' to be unselfish but I want you
mm h-mm I'm tryin' to be unselfish but I want you

Caught between our friendship and love
I can't imagine what we were thinking of
When we parted we were only a touch away
Caught in limbo hinting around
we kept our feet too close to the lonely ground
Maybe now we understand what we didn't say
Change into a stranger overnight
but we might still remember if the time was right
Bridges burnt before their time
when you got lost in your own mind
Nothing was done, a lot was said
I was on the edge when you went blind
Bridges burnt before their time
The hourglass is so unkind
Don't you ever turn your head
and see what we both left behind
solo
By chance i saw the answer in your eyes
Sometimes your soul will shout out what your face denies
Bridges burnt before their time
Our thing was just a pantamime
We took the safe way out instead
Our lives will be forever intertwined
Bridges burnt before their time
you turned your back and I turned mine
Leaving both of us part dead
Why were we so afraid of what we'd find
Now we live in different towns
forgot to watch our dominoes falling down
but we had a little time in the sun back then
Should our lives get tangled again
I'd try to find the lover inside the friend
but would you hide your love til the bitter end?
Change into a stranger overnight
but we might still remember if the time was right

You're an asshole and it's out of control
You took me to insanity Was that your goal ?
I'm your victim - That's the thing I can't change
Yeah I gave you all the benefit but you're deranged
Did I let you into my mind ?
Oh how could I be so blind Oh how could I be so blind
My intentions were only good then I found out where I stood
Then I found out where I stood
Finally caught a couple glimpses of your changing face
but by that time you had my head inside your trophy case
You're an asshole and it's out of control
You took me to insanity Was that your goal ?
I'm your victim - That's the thing I can't change
Yeah I gave you all the benefit but you're deranged
For awhile I didn't have a clue
put together 2 and 2 put together 2 and 2
and there you were without your disguise
saw your calculating eyes saw your calculating eyes
Couldn't run you had me cornered in your slaughter house
and the lamb I thought you were became a wolf that growls
break
Oh yes, you've taught me so well
that there really is a hell that there really is a hell
In the end though, vengeance is mine
cause you're stuck with your own kind Yeah, you're stuck with your own kind
Still I agonize about the thing I cannot do
get back all the time I wasted when I dealt with you
You're an asshole and it's out of control
You took me to insanity Was that your goal ?
I'm your victim - That's the thing I can't take
Oh, I thought that you were genuine but you're a fake
break
Oh, I let you into my mind
Oh how could I be so blind Oh how could I be so blind
My intentions were only good
then I found out where I stood Then I found out where I stood
With your dummy face performance I was reassured
as I lay in little pieces on your cutting board
You're an asshole and it's out of control
You took me to insanity Was that your goal ?
I'm your victim - That's the thing I can't change
Yeah I gave you all the benefit but you're deranged
Asshole

Brand New Car
03:43
|
|
||
You got a brand new car but you're still livin' with your mother
Ya got some shiny wheels, yeah you're really gonna roam
Ya got a girlfriend now, wish you had somewhere to take her
Have you noticed, hey, it's gettin' kinda late, boy ya better call home
Did you miss the boat, are you ever gonna catch it?
Is your brain for sale? boy ya never seem to think
Time's in short supply but you're bidin' like a trouper
hey your car is great, but your life is rinky dink
You got a brand new car You got a brand new car
You got a brand new car, won't let anybody touch it
You deserve the best, but you've yet to earn a thing
Ya got a dead end job, just tryin' to make it to the weekend
Before ya know it whoa you're turnin' 35 and you're hangin' by a string
What a great day to wake up and go out cruisin' like a demon
Then it rained and it slid off the road, now your car's at the garage
You can't afford no kind of life cause you're still makin' payments
but you just can't see yourself in an old used Dodge
You got a brand new car but you're still livin' with your mother
but your girlfriend's gone, went off to move in with a man
Ah forged about it, you got other things to ponder
You got another hot car picked out, you're gonna buy it if you can
Brand new car You need a brand new car

Smitty Was Right
05:27
|
|
||
Another day, another job, another life at large
The first week I was introduced to the man in charge
He moved a little shaky and his eyes were bloodshot red
but whoever named him iron man hit the nail right on the head
-guitar interlude-
You know what they say, a company man is a company's best friend
Smitty volunteered for overtime on his weekends
Saved most all his money, he knew it wouldn't go far
and when all the shoptalk got him down, he'd stop off at the bar
He'd make it in the next day despite that aching in his head
and sick leave saved enough to spend the next whole year in bed
Retirement day's long passed him by but he's still workin' on
still saving for the future but that's long, long lost
The first time that I called in sick, Smitty had his doubts
Refused overtime and we both knew he had me figured out
but Smitty's wife could tell you how those hours slip away
while Smitty worked to save enough for countless rainy days
Production stats are down and you can blame the bureaucracy
The big shots take it out on Smitty, he takes it out on me
He gladly takes the hassle for such sweet prosperity
but he can't take that with him to the land of the free
Smitty was right but it didn't do him no good
He knew all along that I didn't belong in his neighborhood
now if I was an iron man well I just might
but overtime isn't worth one dime tonight
oh Smitty
are you still here?
all of the sudden it's already 40 long years
and one long night
Smitty, you were right
Smitty always tried so hard to throw in his two cents
but kids not half his age went further on thru management
Many friends have come and gone, where are they all now?
Smitty knew he'd get by somehow
Still lookin' at the little girls, you know he's goin nowhere
His mortgage paid, his fortune made, he'd say he doesn't care
Me I think that Smitty's life has been more than unfair
but carve it in the building walls yes ironman was there, ironman was there
Different rules for different fools in the school of hard knocks
One good turn leads to one good burn and you learn to fly with the flock
Instead of taking your time my friend, I think you better take stock
Can you hear the drums, your time has come to hit off that clock
Smitty was right
(He did what he could, didn't do him much good)
He knew all along that I didn't belong in his neighborhood
(I didn't belong and I never would)
now if I was an iron man well I just might
(Gehrig is gone, but Cal Ripken lives on)
but overtime isn't worth one dime tonight
('cept your money was time, and your fortune is gone)
